Fauxwood shutters have louvres made from solid, UV fade-resistant polyvinyl chloride (PVC) strengthened with a stabilising aluminium core. Faux shutters are well suited for use in areas regularly exposed to water, steam, direct sunlight and rapid changes in temperature that can cause natural timber to shrink, split or warp. They are a popular choice amongst homeowners who want low maintenance, traditional-looking shutters on a budget.

FAQs about Fauxwood PVC Shutters
PVC is an affordable, durable and stylish alternative to timber that requires very little maintenance and is perfect for wet areas.
Composite PVC can be used as exterior shutters because their construction makes them resistant to rotting or warping. Full sun and heavy rain will not damage these outside window shutters.
Amaru offer a 5 year warranty on our composite PVC shutter products. If any part of the shutter fails during normal use within the first 5 years, we will replace it.

To maintain your interior PVC shutters and keep them looking their best regularly dust the louvres with a static or feather duster to remove surface dust. Run the duster across starting at the topmost slat to bottom.
Do not use bleach on white PVC shutters, if you notice any marks these can be spot cleaned using a lightly damp microfibre cloth and a mild detergent made for cleaning PVC.
For external PVC shutters periodically gently hose off surface dust and debris, Amaru do not recommend using a high pressure washer. If your outdoor fauxwood shutters have become coated with thick layer of dirt, this can be removed with a lightly damp microfibre cloth and a mild detergent.
