Energy Saving Blinds

It’s important to seek the right advice prior to choosing window coverings for your home or workplace. With Amaru, you will receive an obligation free measure and quote – which also includes expert advice regarding the latest energy saving solutions available.

The Amaru Difference

Energy Saving

Independent testing has shown that, with the right window covering, you can reduce the heating costs for your home by more than 42%.

We have also conducted our own research into energy efficiency, which has shown us that homes with single glazed windows and no coverings will often have a thermal transmission through those windows of more than 84%.

Our installation technicians will ensure that your energy saving blinds are correctly measured and installed to maximise these savings.

"A big thank you to the team at Amaru for their fantastic service when ordering and installing my new Thermacell blinds. Very professional and the process was informative and stress free. I only wish I had done it sooner!"

Anne, VIC

How do our blinds work?

We have designed our Thermacell cellular blinds range with energy efficiency in mind, so you can rest assured that they can actually help to considerably lower your heating and cooling costs. They will reduce the workload of your heater and air conditioner, which will also help to extend their lifetimes.

Do window coverings come with an energy rating?

Officially no, however, the industry is working on a rating system to guide consumers in this area. In the meantime, Amaru has an unofficial rating system based on our research and many years of industry experience. Our advice consultants will be happy to share this information with you during your free measure and quote.

What does R-value mean and how does it relate to window coverings?

R-value is the measure of thermal resistance used in the building and construction industry. It relates to how much a material inhibits temperature transfer for the benefit of insulation. The higher the R-value the more effective the insulation.

We often forget about window coverings as a way of insulating our homes however up to 25% of heating and cooling can be lost through your windows in an un-insulated home.

At Amaru, we have tested some products for their R-value. Please feel free to ask our decor consultants to view these reports during a free measure and quote.
